Virtually any product can be molded with strength equal to many grades of steel with added flexibility. In addition, plastics are lighter as we see many automotive parts being made from plastic to increase fuel mileage and the added benefit of corrosion resistance. Plastics can be injection molded into just about any product as people see in a few examples soda bottle caps, kitchenware, railroad light lenses, dental and medical products, computer and electronic parts and key fobs. A mold can be built for very reasonable costs and can produce parts for many years. Also, if a part design changes the mold can usually be changed at a reasonable cost to produce the new design.
